On Tuesday, March 16th, within the framework of the lecture series “Linie 4”, a cooperation of the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology and the Volkshochschule Bielefeld, I will hold a public lecture.
Against the background of the current financial crisis, I will pose the question how cultural processes are used to cope with such shared experiences. As a contrast to the current situation, I will focus on the first world financial crisis ever, the so called South Sea and Mississippi Bubble of 1720.

For anyone interested – I plan to have a comprehensve list of crises, their cause and effects on my blog which has only just started, also with “study guide” type information on related topics (see editorial policy page).
Good points!
